Hello, everyone, my topic today is 「The ShawShank Redemption」. Prison as a special place for prisoners is part of the society. It』s special because of its depriving the freedom of the prisoners. The prisoners in that situation are more sensitive to freedom than people in other situations. When they lost it, they found that it was so necessary to them that they looked forward to regaining it. By contrast, the people lived in the political society were interested in courting the fame and gain. They lost most of their inherent character. They put their soul into the fence of their own. They gave up the freedom of thinking. They forgot their original dream. The demands of the spirit were materialized to a position or some numbers.
A prisoner spent almost all the life in the prison. When he got the parole, which was applied for many years but without reply, he didn』t feel happy, but sad. He wanted to go to the prison again. He wanted to live in the place he knew. In the prison, he was a key who had knowledge and position. But when he went out of the prison, he found he was only an old man without anything. He couldn』t finish his work quickly because his hands had suffered the arthritis. Unfortunately, he even had no power to struggle. As a result, He chose to suicide because it was the only thing he could do by himself.
Red was a superman in the prison. He could find things that weren』t in the prison at all. But when he went out of the prison, he could do nothing. He lived in the fear and felt so lonely. He loved freedom but he couldn』t realize his value. In this film, Red said, 「Hope is a dangerous thing. Drive a man insane. Nothing will take place here. You』d better get used to the idea. These walls here are kinds of funny. At the beginning, you hate them, then you will get used to them. As time passes, you will depend on them. That's institutionalizing.」
In this film, Andy as the symbol of the hope lived in the prison for 20 years. He remained his dream all the time. On one hand, he looked forward to getting freedom. On the other hand, he believed that he was innocent of the murder. The real reason was his profound thought about hope. In his opinion, hope is a good thing, maybe the best thing, and no good things ever die. It makes a strong man save himself, and a great man save another one. According to this idea, the life in prison for 20 years did not made Andy give up the hope, but made him comprehend the meaning of the life. In fact, hope is a mood without ambition but it really exists.
The sky, the sea and the beach compose a romantic picture. When Andy and Red, two weather-beaten friends, saw each other again in the island, all hardship of 20 years made Andy tougher and their friendship get harder as the same.

Waiting until after everyone in the embassy (大使館) where her party is staying has gone to sleep, she slips out a window and finds herself alone on the streets of Rome.
She is found by Joe Bradley (Peck) , a hardened (堅毅的) and somewhat cynical (憤世嫉俗的`) reporter, on his way homefroma late night card game. Not knowing who she is but seeing that she has no place to stay he takes pity on her and invites her to his apartment for the night. In a ical (滑稽的) scene, he offers her a pair of his pajamas (睡衣) and points to the couch where she can sleep. Innocent (天真的) aristocrat (貴族) that she is, she asks for a nightgown and help undressing. Bradley helps her take off her tie and then leaves the room. When he returns a few minutes later he discovers her sound asleep on the bed, leaving him the couch (沙發) .
Leaving her sleeping the next morning, Bradley shows up late for work and tries to cover himself by saying that he had an interview (采訪) with the princess. But his editor shows him a newspaper with her picture and headline stating that she was taken ill the night before and canceled all appointments (安排) for the day. Bradley immediately realizes who he has in his apartment and gets the editor to agree to pay $5, 000 if he can get a real interview with the princess. On the way out Bradley contacts a photographer (攝影師) friend, Irving Radovich (Albert) and arranges for him to met him later with his camera for a big scoop.
Returning to his apartment, Bradley picks up the princess for their planned tour of the city. Bradleys real aim is to get the pictures and story he promised (答應) his editor. But the innocent charm of the princess softens him and the two start to fall in love. Theyenp having a good time and some ical adventures (冒險) . Bradley conceals the fact that he is a reporter who knows who she really is and she doesnt tell him that that she is a royal princess. But in theendthe truth es out and the princess realizes that her ty to her country and family e first and she reluctantly (不情願地) returns to her official role.
The two meet briefly at theendring her press conference with other reporters. She addresses Bradley as Mr. Bradley just like the others. The charming Audrey Hepburn plays a modern princess who takes a day on Rome. She meets up with reporter Peck and wise-cracking photographer Albert. The movie Kung Fu Panda looks like a kung-fu novel, in accordance with Chinese-style plot development. But Elizabeth believes the lies of Wickham which causes her great prejudice to Darcy. She rejects Darcy』s propose marriage to protect her self-respect. Finally, Darcy goes away because he couldn』t tolerate Elizabeth』s sisters』 vulgar manners. He writes a long letter to explain his thoughts and love to Elizabeth. After reading it, Elizabeth feels guilty about misjudging Darcy and regrets turning him down. 「The Pursuit of Happyness」 was released on the 15th of December 2006. It is a dramatic story based on a biography of Chris Gardner』s nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Directed by Gabrielle Muccino, the film stars Will Smith as Chris Gardner, and co-stars Jaden Smith playing Chris』 son, Christopher Jr. For Will Smith』s performance in the film, he was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. The 『different』 spelling of the title, 『Happyness』 is seen by Chris Gardner on the building outside the play centre is son attends, which Chris reminds the owners of the building multiple times that it is spelt with an 『I』.
The film shows us the struggles Chris Gardner has with homelessness. During the struggles, his wife Linda leaves to go to New York and Chris and his son are left in San Francisco with no income and living in a motel. Meanwhile, Chris and his son are evicted because they can』t pay rent, and they are forced to go to a homeless shelter, and even one night had to sleep in the bathroom of the underground rail system. During his internship, he never once mentions his financial struggles and at one point he is asked to give one of his bosses 5 dollars for a cab, a sum that he can』t afford. After an intense six months, Chris is taken into the bosses』 office, and is offered a job as a stockbroker, the final scene shows him being in unbelief of the position he was offered and showing his happiness and gratefulness for the opportunity, Chris realises that his financial struggles are over as he now has a job with a regular income.
Christ was unfortunate, for he got a wife who was not understandable at all (though she has her own difficulties) and was in bad luck with his business. But he was very fortunate also, for he got a son who was very thoughtful and, I think, tough life experiences always make a great person. It is said that this movie is inspired by a true story, and I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. What impressed me most are: Christ』s wife left him because of life pressure; Christ』s love to his son and Christ』s strong belief towards life. Through these, I know that it is not easy to be a good husband and a good Papa, since in reality, only love cannot only make everything. And I also learn that one has to strongly believe in himself, no matter how difficult the situation is, but of course, hard-working is indispensable.
